Kind of annoying, but my son likes it.
We have a huge bin of the Imaginext dinosaurs, so I knew my son would like this one before it even arrived. Overall, for a six year old little boy, it's pretty cool.
WALKING
The dinosaur walks and does an okay job of it as long as he's on a hard surface. On carpet, he seems to just fall over or kind of slide around.
FIRING
When in the mode to fire, the seat lifts up very quickly and fires two missiles. Be ready and make sure he isn't pointed toward anyone! This is where the annoying part comes in. The sound effects just keep going and going and going and, as a parent, after about the 50th time, you want to toss this dinosaur as far away as possible.
DURABILITY
He is very durable. He's already made a couple of trips down the stairs onto the tile floor and is no worse for wear. I think a little kid would have to try hard to damage this dinosaur.
OVERALL LOOK
Compared to the other Imaginext dinosaurs, I didn't really...
great toy for dino fans
My son loves dinos and we already had the Imaginext T-Rex, which has been a favorite toy for years. I was excited to get a similar toy. He ended up liking this toy, but not as much as he did the T-Rex. I think it is not quite as good as Rex for two reasons - one is that it doesn't move in quite as cool a way, and the other is that Apatasaurus is just not as cool as T-Rex, period.
The toy is very good quality, though. Like most imaginext toys, there are a dozen things you can open and close and move and change. It has a very cool, large circular fan-like piece that spins when it opens (the "saddle" part flips up and this large fan stands up perpendicular on the back of the dinosaur and the little man stands in front of it). I'm not sure why it spins or what it does, but it looks really interesting and make a cool noise.
The best thing about this toy is that it walks. It doesn't work well on carpet, but on a hard, flat surface it moves forward (slowly,...
Great toy
I got this as a gift for my nephew and he loved it. The Imaginext line of toys are wonderful for young kids.
