LEGO Coast Guard Helicopter

An excellent set for Lego City fans
This is the first City system I have bought in years... having mostly purchased UCS, creator expert, or the licensed sets lately. However, this set did not disappoint.

The set includes 230 pieces, including four minifigures, a white shark, the helicopter, and a small sailboat. At $35-$40, this set is more expensive than the usual 10 cents/piece calculation. The reason this set is more expensive is due to some of the larger moulded pieces, the winch system to raise and lower the rope, and the inclusion of 4 figures and an animal.

The design of the boat is pretty simple, but there are a few interesting building techniques. The boat includes a plastic sail which seems pretty tear resistant.

The helicopter is a fun build. The large moulded plastic pieces make up much of the body of the helicopter, and assembled quickly. But, the top of the helicopter has a lot more detail and smaller pieces than I expected. The detail on top added to the overall look...
A little bit of fun for everyone!
This is great for families since it has a couple of different builds in it. My 4year old put together the boat by herself, and my 7year old put the helicopter together with a little help from Dad. Very exciting for everyone to play with afterward, especially since it came with the shark and 4 mini figures. Plenty to go around.

We love the spinning rotor blades, the kids take turns spinning them, one in the front with the other in the back and switch! The hoist actually operates, you pull out the cable(actually a string) and push a button to reel it back in. A word of caution with younger kids, make sure that you teach them to keep the string straight, so you don't wind up with a big knot which could happen if it's reeled in too fast with a lot of slack. I do see how if left to be played with alone by a younger child, it could tangle or be pulled out past the point of allowance. I would recommend supervision with anyone under 8 years of age, but it is very engaging for...
It has a shark!
One of the better value for the
Money sets from Lego I think.
Duaghter loved so many figurines being included in the set. Helicopter a great addition
