Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter, Red

difficult to use
I bought this for my 3 year old at Christmas. I was worried that he was not the most stable and good at balancing, so i thought this would be a good first scooter.

In the past 6 months he hasn't shown a lot of interest. I have watched him struggle to use it, fall, wobble, have me carry it after getting a few houses down our street. He got a little better, but looked awkward and unsafe.

All his friends have the 'mini-kick' scooter, and all seemed to be doing great. In the end i broke down and bought him one too. 2 days ago. 2 days later, he hasn't stopped using it. Loves it, is steady, smooth, doing tricks, and won't stop riding it for miles and miles (literally miles).

Conclusion - I was initially sold on the Radio Flyer design features figuring it would be an easier scooter for him to start with. But the steering and bulk of it make it very hard for a little person to use. I heartily suggest spending a little more on a mini-kick..
Just okay
I was a bit disappointed in this scooter because it's not as sterdy as I would have liked it to be. I though my son would play with it all the time but it's not so easy for him to maneuver he's 2 1/2 but begged for it before he got it. Once he got it he didn't touch it.
Great Product
Got this for our four year old son. It is quite sturdy and does not topple over easily so we feel more safe and secure with him riding it. Would repurchase as gifts as well
